We’re in the first rotation – Michigan is on vault and Georgia is on bars. Georgia alums Courtney Kupets and Katie Heenan are in the arena. Courtney is on the floor cheering on her teammates while Katie is on press row with the Georgia SID staff.
5:50pm: Georgia’s Grace Taylor just warmed up on bars – her routine includes a pak salto and a double layout dismount.
5:53pm: Georgia’s Courtney McCool just threw a lovely full-twisting double layout dismount on bars.
5:55pm: The teams are now transitioning to their second event.
5:57pm: Prior to the start of the meet, we will honor our five seniors and their families: Sarah, Kelsey, Jackie, Jordan, and Maureen. We love you ladies!
5:59pm: Natalie is warming up bars – looks like she made alternate tonight – good for you frosh. We’ll get you in the all-around at some point.
6:05pm: Senior parents are arriving … going to cry. Have to give a shout out to Grandma Knutson! I’m sorry you were unable to make the trip. I’ll cheer extra loud for Kelsey tonight.
6:07pm: Sarah’s rocking bars at the moment. Now Jo’s warming up the second half of her routine. Look at that stick on the double front!
6:09pm: Georgia alum Katie Heenan is broadcasting from the floor – I’m not sure if they have audio and video or just audio tonight.
6:15pm: The teams are rotating to their third event. We’ll get a first look at Georgia on floor.
6:25pm: Courtney McCool is now on floor – warming up her dance. Pretty music.
6:26pm: Kylee is warming up on beam – looking good Ky.
6:27pm: We had some lineup changes for Georgia – Grace Taylor is only on beam now and Marcia Newby is only on bars.
6:30pm: There is some frustration in the audience that Georgia has toe nail polish on right now … which should be a deduction.
6:32pm: Jackie is warming up on floor. She’ll be exhibitioning beam and going first on floor.
6:33pm: Britt is on floor while Christa Tanella is warming up beam for Georgia.
6:34pm: Jo is rocking floor. Here comes Sarah!
6:36pm: Hilary Mauro is on beam for Georgia – one gymnast that is shorter than I am!
6:37pm: Natalie is getting ready to warm-up floor. Love her routine.
6:38pm: Grace Taylor is on beam – just showed some great flexibility. The crowd is filing in – free admission for elementary school students.
6:40pm: The team is coming together on floor for one last meeting before they go back to change for march in.
6:44pm: Can’t believe that it is senior night! Going to cry folks. Love this senior class.
6:47pm: There are these cute girls in purple long sleeve tops and purple plaid pants lined up by the tunnel – too cute.
6:48pm: Apparently we have some parents stuck in traffic. Yikes. We’re not sure if the senior night presentation is at the start or end of the meet. As the Knutsons and Ms. Moody are in the stands – I’m guessing we’re doing it at the end so the girls are not too emotional before the meet.
6:56pm: Yikes – there was a deadly accident on US 23 and we have parents stuck in a traffic jam. Come on Beilsteins and Kramers – we’re saving you seats!
7:00pm: Here we go! LET’S GO BLUE! – I’m off to the other page to do the meet commentary.
