Botterman Shines in UM Loss

Despite first place showings by junior Kylee Botterman (bars, all-around) and senior Kelsey Knutson (beam), the Wolverines placed second (194.725) to the Nebraska Cornhuskers (196.025) on Sunday afternoon.  Michigan started off strong on the uneven bars, posting a 49.050 to take the early lead over Nebraska (48.850 on vault).  After a solid vault rotation (48.725), the Wolverines found themselves trailing Nebraska (98.025 – 97.775).  The third rotation found Nebraska struggling on beam (48.650) and Michigan performing well on floor (49.000) – earning a 0.1 lead entering the final rotation.  However, beam proved to be the nemesis for the Wolverines once again, as they had to count two falls in their final team total.
